Safety - First and Foremost

Build Safe. We promote the safest workplace possible for employees, subcontractors, clients and others who enter or approach our construction sites. We are dedicated to elevating the standards of safety in the construction industry through a wide variety of methods—from zero-tolerance drug testing, innovative training/ education programs and providing employees and subcontractors with tools, knowledge and resources they need to work safely. We have a record of safety that leads the industry.

KEY SAFETY FACTS:

  • Each project has an individual plan to ensure that safety is the number one priority each and every day.
  • Due to our highly developed Safety Program and the consistent drive behind it, Crossland enjoys an excellent safety reputation throughout the construction industry.
  • In 2008, Crossland started a new program called S.T.O.P. – Safety Through Organization and Planning. This program is designed to help improve safety through training and education, and to make everyone aware that safety is priority on every job.
  • Every employee at Crossland has attended S.T.O.P. training and signed a personal commitment sheet to be an active participant in helping themselves and others to work safe, everyday.
  • All new employees are issued a safety green hard hat for the first 6 months of employment. This allows the superintendents to distinguish the newer employees to make sure that they are performing their tasks in a safe manner.
  • Every job site receives scheduled and unannounced inspections by a corporate safety officer. If necessary, a full-time safety officer is assigned to the job site.
  • Crossland rewards safety with employee prizes as well as a brand new truck that is given away in a drawing when One Million Man Hours are achieved without a lost time accident.
